It's finished. I wasn't in a hurry to finish this but I always enjoy seeing the finished quilt. It's so easy to start a quilt and end up with a quilt top that waits to be quilted.
After reading some quilting blogs, I decided to use a flannel backing. I had asked for some advice on making this a warmer quilt and was a bit reluctant at first to use flannel . My grandson lives in a colder climate than I do. I live in Florida and honestly am somewhat ignorant about living in colder climates. I really appreciated the advice from other quilters. One bit of info that might be useful to anyone using flannel on the back or making an all flannel quilt is to pre wash the flannel. It shrinks more than other fabrics.

I'm now on to the next quilt...a Nascar themed quilt for my son who only wants a Nascar quilt. Gone are the days I made my daughter a Holly Hobby quilt. If I could find some of the fabric I might make her one for the love of the memories of her childhood, maybe just a lap quilt.
